The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Game Is Finished For Good

Developer Gun Interactive has “fully realized” their vision for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre game, meaning it will no longer be getting any new content updates or patches after a patch later this month. The game has only been around for two years.

Gun shared the news on the blog, explaining the full potential was reached and that they were proud of the game they created. Now, it should be cleared up, while the game is ending support, that doesn’t mean it’s going away entirely. The studio will keep the game up and running, likely until the game’s license expires, which was the downfall of Friday the 13th: The Game, which shut down in 2024.

The team is going to move forward with peer-to-peer matchmaking, though, so while no major patches will be done, there will potentially be some stuff to make that work in the future. It isn’t clear what Gun is working on, though, with this decision set in stone.

What do you think? Are you disappointed to see the game going the way of the dodo? Let us know below!
